Join us Saturday October 3 from 10 am to 3pm to celebrate our fourth year in the Antelope Valley during CALM open house event at our offices located at 1008 West Avenue M-14, Suite A, Palmdale 93551. Come by and learn what CALM has done for the past three years. Hear from our volunteers, board members and learn why you should support CALM.
It’s official! CALM’s mediator skills certificate training begins next Monday, June 15, at 5:00 PM at the City of Palmdale Larry Chimbole Cultural Center, located on the southeast corner of Palmdale Blvd and Sierra Hwy, 38350 Sierra Hwy, Palmdale 93550.
The 40 hour training will meet for two-and-a-half weeks MTWTh evenings from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM plus one Saturday, July 11 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Certificates of completion will be conferred during the last hour when your guests are invited to witness and celebrate with us. The dates are June 15, 16, 17, 18; 22, 23, 24, 25; 29; and July 11 inclusively for 10 four-hour days.
If there are any conflicts in your schedule, please discuss them with the trainer now, before enrollment. Some portions of the course can be made up via outside written assignments, but the hands-on exercises cannot.
To get officially enrolled on the class roster, please go to www.calmnetwork.org now or no later than Friday, June 12 and complete the CONTACT page. PLEASE ALSO INCLUDE A POSTAL MAILING ADDRESS in the COMMENTS. Then, while on the site, please pay via PAYPAL the $35 registration and materials fee. Everyone is required to pay the materials fee before or at the beginning of class. Please call the center if there are any problems getting registered online.
There is also a tuition fee that may be waived if you sign a VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT stating that you will volunteer for a minimum of 40 additional hours during the next 12 months in exchange for tuition and to further your training experience. If for any reason the 40 hours are not met, the full tuition or a prorated amount will be billed to you.
For those who do not wish to or are unable to make the additional time commitment, please either pay the current tuition of $225 online, or you may request installment payments in the COMMENTS section of your online enrollment.
