11/1/2023 - From The President's Desk

I hope this message finds you well. We are excited to share some wonderful news and updates from the President's Desk. As of November 1, 2023, we are thrilled to officially introduce CALM Arts 4 Peace—a heartwarming initiative that emerged during the immensely successful Seniors Got Talent Showcase 2023 fundraiser.

CALM Arts 4 Peace
The Seniors Got Talent Showcase 2023 has left a profound impact and continues to inspire all who were part of it. The event was an overwhelming success, with a resounding demand for more of these moments filled with fun, entertainment, and valuable life lessons through the arts. Your support will be instrumental in ensuring that we can deliver just that.

Whether you were among the enthusiastic audience in the packed theater or missed the event, we invite you to be one of the first to experience the magic through the official SGTS video. Your contribution of $5 or more will make a significant difference in our mission. Please click the button below to make your donation.

The Birth of CALM Arts 4 Peace
For me, the arts have always been a lifelong passion. I had always envisioned that in my golden years or after retirement, I would dedicate my time to the arts. However, as the leader of a dynamic and youthful CALM, that dream didn't seem practical. And then, the idea for CALM Arts 4 Peace was born. This initiative has quietly manifested through various programs, including our annual live jazz garden parties, silent art auctions, summer youth arts & crafts day camp, and the 2019 Showcase.

This year's Seniors Got Talent Showcase, which was back by popular demand, reached thousands through our social media campaigns and delighted hundreds of arts enthusiasts in a sold-out theater performance. CALM Arts 4 Peace is a continuing nonprofit fundraising effort that fuses CALM's expertise in mediation with the belief that art, in all its forms, can foster greater humanity, understanding, and healing.

Bridging Communities Through Art
CALM Arts 4 Peace perfectly aligns with our parent organization's vision of helping community members navigate everyday conflicts through dialogue rather than court battles. Our clients include tenants and landlords resolving disagreements, employees and employers seeking effective and affordable workplace solutions, and seniors or individuals with special needs looking for support in understanding contracts and asserting their rights. The recent showcase was co-hosted by MomsHouse, a local nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that seniors lead active and independent lives.

We invite you to join us in this remarkable journey towards a more harmonious world. Your support is invaluable, and together, we can continue to spread the message of peace through the arts.

Thank you for being a part of the CALM Arts 4 Peace family. Together, we can make a difference.

Warm regards,
Linda Hughes
